The Priory of Victoria was established on 19 February 1980, with H.E. Bailiff The Right Honourable Sir Hubert Opperman Kt., CBE., as the Prior. The current Prior for  Victoria is H.E. Baliff R John Robb, AM, GCSJ. Commanderies were later established in Ballarat and Geelong.

Ballarat Commanderie was raised on 24 June 1983 with Chevalier Colonel Edward Rigby as Commander. The Geelong Commanderie was raised on 24 June 1983 with Chevalier Milton Williams as Commander. The current Commander for Geelong Commanderie is Chevalier David R Lawrence AM KCSJ.

The Council of the Grand Priory meets regularly and includes in its membership the Priors of the Priories of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
